The MPS World Summit is the world’s largest congress for Microphysiological Systems (MPS). These human-based models are a groundbreaking technology that recreates organ architecture and function in vitro and includes organ-on-chip systems and 3D organoids.

The European Coalition to End Animal Experiments (ECEAE) invites applications for two travel grants to attend the 2026 MPS World Summit in Washington, DC, USA. Each grant provides €1,500 for travel expenses and includes a waiver of the registration fee for the summit.

The aim of these grants is to support university students and early-career researchers from Europe (both EU and non-EU countries) who are committed to animal-free science but may lack the financial resources to attend. Applications from low- and middle-income countries, including Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs) listed under COST Actions, are particularly encouraged.

Eligibility and Conditions:

  • Applicants must be based in Europe (EU or non-EU countries within Europe).
  • Applicants must align with ECEAE’s mission to replace and abolish animal experiments.
  • Selected recipients must be able to attend the entire MPS World Summit (26. - 29. May 2026) and hold the necessary travel documents to enter the USA (e.g., passport, visa, or ESTA).
  • Grant recipients must agree to participate in ECEAE’s public outreach activities related to the summit (such as interviews, videos, or social media content).

Applicants should clearly describe how their participation will contribute to their professional development and promote the advancement of non-animal research methods.

Application deadline: 28. February 2026
