NewsPosted: 17/11/09 ECEAE call to supporters as EU Directive reaches a critical timeAs we enter the final critical weeks for the revision of EU Directive 86/609 on the use of animals in experiments, the ECEAE is campaigning tirelessly to secure greater protection for animals in laboratories across the EU. The Council of Ministers (EU Member States representatives) is currently discussing the European Commission proposals, and is expected to adopt its position in early December. All MEPs will then have the opportunity to vote again on the proposed revision. The current proposals are a major step backwards for animal protection and the ECEAE is working hard to secure positive amendments. Please support our efforts at this important time by writing to or emailing your MEP now urging them to support the ECEAE’s proposals. |
