Main Content:
Animalia – Federation for the Protection of Animals - is Finland’s largest animal protection organisation, and was founded in 1961. The objective of the Federation is to promote the welfare and rights of animals. We oppose any treatment of animals that essentially inhibits their natural behaviour or causes them pain and distress.
Animalia concentrates primarily on solving animal protection problems related to animal experimentation, the conditions of farm animals and fur farming. The welfare of animals must be taken into account morally and in legislation, as well as in practice.
Animalia campaigns and lobbies for better legislation in collaboration with various organisations and authorities. We actively communicate to increase the general public and decision-makers' awareness of animal protection issues and problems. We also instigate public debate on animal protection.
